The Climate University network coordinated by the University of Helsinki has formed a teaching cooperation contract between 18 universities. A majority of Finnish university students can take the network’s climate and sustainability -themed courses.

The University of Eastern Finland participates in six of the funded FIRI consortia, and funding for the development of infrastructures was granted to all faculties of the university.

The doctoral dissertation in the field of Computer Science will be examined at the Faculty of Science and Forestry at Joensuu Campus.

Craig Michell, MSc, used genome sequencing to explore the speciation process of willow-galling sawflies.

A previously unknown source of the strong greenhouse gas nitrous oxide has been found in East Siberian Yedoma permafrost. Published in Nature Communications today, the observation was made by an international group of researchers, with the lead of researchers from the University of Eastern Finland.

The doctoral dissertation in the Computer Science will be examined at the Faculty of Science and Forestry.
