The Master of Science in European Forestry programme, coordinated by the School of Forest Sciences at the University of Eastern Finland, has successfully completed its second-term accreditation according to the Standards defined in the European Approach for Quality Assurance for Joint Programmes.
The programme complies with the requirements defined by the criteria and thus the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area (ESG) and the European Qualifications Framework (EQF) in their current version. The accreditation has been given for the period of six years and is valid until 30 June 2032.
The accreditation process included a comprehensive self-evaluation report, followed by a site visit conducted by an international expert panel. The panel subsequently produced a final evaluation report. The procedure was carried out by AQAS (Agency for Quality Assurance, Germany).
The MSc European Forestry programme is a joint initiative of seven internationally recognised European partner universities: AgroParisTech (France), BOKU University (Austria), the University of Eastern Finland (coordinator), the University of Freiburg (Germany), the University of Lleida (Spain), Transilvania University of Braşov (Romania), and Wageningen University (the Netherlands). In addition, the programme benefits from a wide network of associated partner universities in Albania, Brazil, Canada, China, Moldova, Nigeria, South Africa, and Ukraine, as well as industrial, public-sector, and NGO partners worldwide. These associated partners contribute to the programme by offering internship placements, participating in teaching activities, and supporting programme promotion. They also serve as important research collaborators for the full partner universities and as potential employers for graduates.
