The School of Pharmacy at the University of Eastern Finland and Cumulus Oncology have announced a new collaboration to facilitate early-stage cancer drug discovery.

In a four-year follow-up after diagnosis, most patients followed a stable trajectory without much weight change. Only 10% of patients lost weight, whereas 3% gained weight.

The PhD study investigated cardiovascular drug use, statin discontinuation and coronary artery revascularization among persons with and without AD.

Increase in sedentary time from childhood is associated with worsening arterial stiffness, a surrogate for premature vascular damage. However, light physical activity could reduce the risk.

The Young Researcher Awards were presented to Adriana Della Pietra, Heli Mutanen, Mervi Rantsi and Matias Rusanen. The Doctoral Supervisor Award was presented to Taina Yli-Juuti.

The financial statement for 2023 was discussed by the UEF Board on 22 March. The financial statement will be discussed by the University Collegiate Body on 7 May.
