The doctoral research focused on creating a diverse structural dataset for Organic Anion Transporting Polypeptides (OATPs), a crucial family of solute carrier transporters (SLCO).

The Biomarker Laboratory at the University of Eastern Finland Brain Research Unit is launching diagnostics for a biomarker of Alzheimer’s disease, to be measured from a blood sample.

An active commute that involves exercise can reduce the number of sick days and lower the risk of long sickness absences. Commuting by bicycle in particular is associated with a lower risk of sickness absence.

The goal of the study starting in January is to determine whether the new vaccine generates sufficient antibodies against the SARS-CoV-2 virus and its variants, and to ensure the vaccine’s safety.

The report focuses on the period 2022–2024, and also describes the objectives for global development for 2025 and forward.

“We should roll up our sleeves to strengthen primary healthcare. Specialised healthcare cannot make up for what’s lacking in statutory basic public services,” says Professor of Public Health Medicine Harri Hyppölä.

The donation supports AI research at the University of Eastern Finland and other Finnish universities.
