Scoping reviews are increasingly used to map emerging evidence, clarify key concepts, and identify research gaps across diverse fields. However, designing and managing an effective data extraction workflow for scoping reviews can be challenging.
The webinar will guide beginner and experienced researchers through best practices for designing efficient data extraction workflows for scoping reviews using Covidence. Speakers will revisit key scoping review principles, explore how the PCC (Population–Concept–Context) framework informs extraction design, and demonstrate how to translate your protocol into a practical template. The session will also highlight features of our Extraction 2 tool that enhance flexibility and improve extraction efficiency.
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Understand the role of data extraction (“charting”) in scoping reviews
- Apply the PCC framework to design extraction fields aligned with their review question
- Create and customise an extraction template in Covidence’s Extraction 2 tool
