This is the Commitment agreement for the 24/7 pass to the Joensuu and Kuopio Campus Library and associated lobby facilities. See also the Safety Instructions for Library 24/7 Access Badge Holder and instructions on how to apply for the badge.
To whom
UEF staff members and students who have the UEF user ID and password can get an access badge. UEF Library customership is a requirement for obtaining the access pass to the library's 24/7 facilities.
Validity
Access badge is valid for students until the end of the right to study and for staff members for the duration of the contract of employment.
Access rights
Access badge is always personal and may not be handed over to a third party. The access badge holder is not permitted to use their access pass to allow others enter the premises.
Access times
The pass allows you access to the open customer spaces on the first floor of the Joensuu Campus Library and the premises of the Kuopio Campus Library outside the opening hours for study and work use. In addition, the pass entitles the use of the lobby and rest rooms associated with the library.
On days that the library is open, you can access the self-study facilities starting from 7am until the opening of the library and from 30 minutes after the library has closed until 11pm. After 11pm, the space cannot be entered but if you have arrived before that time, you can stay throughout the night. On library closing days, you can access the space between 7am and 11pm. Exceptions to the opening hours of the 24/7 premises are announced separately.
Notices
Access badge holder must follow the notices and news on the use of the space from the library’s home page: https://www.uef.fi/en/library and within the library’s premises.
Damages
Besides the commitment agreement, the access badge holder is bind by the library’s terms of use and by the separately given instructions on the library’s resources and spaces. The access badge holder must compensate the university and library for any damage caused within the premises.
Surveillance
University has a recording camera surveillance in the space. Besides the camera surveillance, the space is secured by an external security company. They have the right, given by the university, to inspect the access badge and identity of a person within the premises. If necessary, they also have the right to remove a person from the premises.
Termination
Library has the right, by its own discretion, to terminate a contract effective immediately.
Other Terms
University has the right to change the access times of the space and the instructions on the use of the space. The lobby space at Snellmania building is not available for study and work when the facilities are reserved for other use.
University is not responsible for the personal belongings of the access badge holder within the 24/7 University premises.
I have read this contract and I agree to abide by it and by the instructions mentioned in it. I acknowledge and approve that within the premises I am subject to surveillance.
