The University of Eastern Finland aims to be compliant with the accessibility requirements based on the Act on the Provision of Digital Services and on the EU’s Web Accessibility Directive. This accessibility statement pertains to the website UEF eRepo available at https://erepo.uef.fi, and it has been drawn up on 25th November 2025. The accessibility of the website has been assessed by the technical provider of the website, University of Eastern Finland Library.
Accessibility status of the digital service
The University of Eastern Finland's eRepo service partially meets the levels A and AA of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 criteria. eRepo is built on Lyrasis's DSpace version 7.6.5. The accessibility of DSpace is continuously being developed, and new changes will be implemented into eRepo with possible future updates. The following shortcomings listed in the WCAG 2.2 criteria have been identified in the eRepo service:
- The technical implementation of the search functionality does not yet fully support a smooth user experience when using screen reader programs.

The link name is not descriptive enough, or links that are close to each other lead to the same address.

Non-compliant content
Some contents in eRepo do not yet comply with the accessibility requirements. We are improving the accessibility issues in the content by instructing and training the content providers.
Not covered by legislation
Office suite files (e.g. pdf) which have been published before 23 September 2018.
The repository contains self-archived research articles and research articles within thesis which are published by users or third parties. These publications are not produced, funded, or supervised by the service provider.
