Saara Koikkalainen awarded a SUSI scholarship in New York

Senior Researcher Saara Koikkalainen has been selected to the Study of the U.S. Institute (SUSI) for Scholars and Professionals -program, which is administered by the Fulbright Finland Foundation.

Senior researcher Saara Koikkalainen has been selected for the Study of the U.S. Institute (SUSI) for Scholars and Professionals -program, which is administered by the Fulbright Finland Foundation. Koikkalainen works at the Karelian Institute and her research focuses on different migration phenomena. Within the SUSI program, U.S. State Department organizes and sponsors six Institutes yearly and selects 18 participants from different countries for each Institute.

The Institutes are intensive post-graduate level academic programs with integrated study tours which purpose is to provide university faculty, scholars, and other related professionals the opportunity to deepen their understanding of U.S. society, culture, values, and institutions. Koikkalainen will participate in the Institute on American Culture and Values which is organized by the New York University (NYU).
