Researchers from the Karelian Institute protest Russia’s attack on Ukraine.

Founded in 1971, KTL has accumulated substantial expertise on cross-border cooperation and the ethnic relations in Russia and elsewhere, among other topics. This expertise has been built together with colleagues from Russia and Ukraine during intensive long-term collaboration.

KTL researchers execrate Russia’s attack Ukraine. KTL’s research supports the principle that international cooperation and security can be achieved without violence, and that strengthening democracy builds a strong and prosperous society.

KTL researchers will continue to pay close attention to events in Ukraine, and will remain vocal about the matter, in line with our expertise. We express heartfelt support for our colleagues in Ukraine and in Russia who oppose the attack.
