“Hi, how are you?” – Well-being Coordinators support students

The University of Eastern Finland’s new Well-being Coordinators have started their work today, on 26 April. The aim is to provide students with peer support in the midst of challenges caused by the pandemic.

The university’s model to reach out to all of its students will be launched, in concrete terms, with contacting of students and with the start of the Well-being Coordinators’ work. All degree-seeking students will be contacted at the end of April and, when necessary, they will be encouraged to reach out to supporting services, at a low threshold.

The newly appointed Well-being Coordinators can offer peer support in challenges relating to students’ everyday life.

“You can talk to us about all the themes related to your everyday life as a student and well-being – or just to catch up,” Well-being Coordinators Janina Hautamäki, Ina Grönlund, Leni Kärkkäinen, Aleksi Hintsala and Katriina Ronkainen say.

The contact details of the Well-being Coordinators can be found on the student website Kamu. The Well-being Coordinators will also introduce themselves on Tuesday, 27 April, in an info session to be held for all students from the University of Eastern Finland (in Finnish). A similar info session, in English, will be organised for international students on Wednesday, 28 April.

Further information on the info sessions and instructions on how to participate are available in Kamu:
