Welcome to the University of Eastern Finland!

The University of Eastern Finland (UEF) is the most multidisciplinary university in Finland. We are home to some 17,000 students who study a variety of disciplines ranging from biology to business studies, from education to environmental sciences and from theology to toxicology on our campuses in Joensuu and Kuopio.

For international students, we offer Bachelor’s degree programmes and several Master’s degree programmes taught in English, as well as non-degree programmes that cater, in particular, to the needs of exchange students. Many of our Master’s degree students stay on board at UEF to continue their studies in our doctoral programmes.

The University of Eastern Finland has initiated negotiations on deepening collaboration and on potential ownership arrangements with the Kajaani, Karelia and Savonia Universities of Applied Sciences and their owner cities.
