UEF Alumni

We welcome all graduates and former exchange students of the University of Eastern Finland, the University of Kuopio and the University of Joensuu to join the UEF Alumni Network. Our alumni form a strong, diverse and international network of academic experts. The UEF Alumni Network maintains and enhances a highly engaged, vibrant community of alumni and friends worldwide. 

Alumni events

The alumni activities of the University of Eastern Finland include a variety of events where you can meet other alumni and network, update and complement your skills, and stay updated on current scientific themes. Events are organised on campuses and in campus cities, all over Finland and the world, and as online webinars. All of our alumni are welcome to join. Follow upcoming events in the events calendar.  

Alumni Day

The University of Eastern Finland is organising its largest-ever Alumni Day in October 2026!    

We are inviting all of our alumni to come together and reminisce about their student days, meet old friends and hear about the latest developments in science. Whether you studied at the University of Kuopio, the University of Joensuu or the University of Eastern Finland, we look forward to meeting you. Come alone or bring the entire class!

We keep in touch with you and keep you updated about the possibilities UEF offers for continuing education. Join our network to influence and strengthen the university’s activities!

Just click Join the UEF Alumni Network! link. To register, you need to fill in a valid email address and create a new password.

Membership of the network is free of charge and does not oblige you to anything. You can resign anytime. By becoming a member, you will get for example invitations to Alumni events. 

To become a member, you have to provide valid contact information and some education details, for example the degree and main subject. 

As a member you have different kinds of benefits.

You can subscribe to our Alumni Newsletter which is delivered to you four times a year, giving you information about the latest alumni news, events, webinars, benefits and so on. 

As a member, you can participate in alumni events, webinars and get-togethers, in Finland and abroad.

As a member you the possibilities to join our continuing education courses and programmes. Students that have completed their Master’s degree or PhD degree have the right to complement their studies after graduation with a continued right to study. The Centre for Continuous Learning offers individually tailored guidance and counselling services and a broad range of opportunities for competence development.

As a member, you will get 10 % discount of nonmedical products in Yliopiston verkkoapteekki. The products ship only in Finland.

Alumna / Alumnus of the Year

Awarding the title of Alumna / Alumnus of the Year is the University of Eastern Finland’s way to recognise the achievements of its accomplished alumni.

How can we help?  

We can: 

  • liaise with your department regarding tours or visits to the department (where possible)
  • advertise your reunion on our website
  • advertise your reunion on social media
  • promote your event in the quarterly UEF Alumni Newsletter
  • provide general advice and support
