Alumni events

The alumni activities of the University of Eastern Finland include a variety of events where you can meet other alumni and network, upgrade and diversify your competencies and skills, and stay updated on current scientific themes. Events are organised on UEF campuses and in the campus cities, all over Finland and the world and online, too. All of our alumni are welcome to join the events. Alumni Day

The University of Eastern Finland is organising its largest-ever Alumni Day on 23 October 2026!    

We are inviting all of our alumni to come together and reminisce about their student days, meet old friends and hear about the latest developments in science. Whether you studied at the University of Kuopio, the University of Joensuu or the University of Eastern Finland, we look forward to meeting you. Come alone or bring your entire class! 

We welcome all graduates and former exchange students of the University of Eastern Finland, the University of Kuopio and the University of Joensuu to join the UEF Alumni Network. Our alumni form a strong, diverse and international network of academic experts. The UEF Alumni Network is a highly engaged, vibrant community of alumni and friends worldwide.

We keep in touch with you, keeping you updated about the possibilities UEF offers for continuing education. Join our network to influence and strengthen the university’s activities!

Just click Join the UEF Alumni Network! link. To register, you need to fill in a valid email address and create a new password.

Membership in the network is free of charge and does not oblige you to anything. By becoming a member, you will get invitations to Alumni events. You can also leave the network anytime.

To become a member, you have to provide valid contact information and some education details, for example the year of your graduation, your degree and major subject of your studies.

As a member you have different kinds of benefits.

You can subscribe to our Alumni Newsletter which is delivered to you four times a year, giving you information about the latest alumni news, events, webinars, benefits and so on. 

As a member, you can participate in alumni events, webinars and meetups, in Finland and abroad.

As a member you the possibilities to join our continuing education courses and programmes. Graduates who have completed a Master’s degree or doctoral degree at UEF are entitled to continue and supplement their studies after graduation through a continued right to study. The Centre for Continuous Learning offers personalised guidance and counselling services, along with a wide range of opportunities for competence development and lifelong learning.

As a member, you can get a 10 % discount on non-medical products from the Yliopiston verkkoapteekki (online pharmacy). The products ship only in Finland.

We are on social media, too - join our LinkedIn group University of Eastern Finland Alumni! The moderator will accept your request after checking your membership status.

Alumni Communities and Groups

As a UEF alumnus/alumna, you are welcome to join alumni communities and social media groups based on academic disciplines, professional interests, regions or countries. Please note that these groups are private and your request to join must be approved by an administrator before membership can be granted.
