The Academy of Finland’s Research Council for Culture and Society granted funding for new Academy Research Fellow and Postdoctoral Researcher posts.
Research called “Reactions to war in Ukraine in university students” will be implemented at University of Eastern Finland. Students will be approached with an electronic questionnaire that deals with reactions to war in Ukraine.
The task values for school and sports among sports upper secondary school students are strongly related to each other. In other words, students with high motivation for school also have high motivation for sports.
Flipping has become increasingly popular internationally in recent years. However, this is the first time that the success of the flipped classroom approach has been studied from the perspective of student satisfaction.
The universities will decide on the reform of the scoring model for certificate-based admission in 2023. The new model will be introduced in 2026. The aim is also to increase collaboration related to entrance examinations among universities.
A total of 135 Ukrainian students applied for a separate non-degree right to study at UEF. The university is also offering Open University courses to citizens of Ukraine free of charge
Doctor of Education Anniina Kämäräinen, Doctor of Agriculture and Forestry Tuomas Yrttimaa, Doctor of Health Sciences Siiri-Liisi Kraav, and Doctor of Philosophy Niko Vartiainen have been recognised with the University of Eastern Finland’s Young Researcher Award 2021.
In response to the humanitarian crisis unfolding in Ukraine, the University of Eastern Finland will make it possible for Ukrainian degree students to apply for admission to the University of Eastern Finland under a separate right to study, and to apply for a grant.
The funding is designed to promote the preconditions for further academic research by researchers who have defended, or will be defending, their doctoral dissertation on the Joensuu Campus.
The University of Eastern Finland has a new partner university in Albania, i.e., Logos University College (ULogos), which is also UEF’s first Albanian partner university.
