The Pedagogical Selves webinar/seminar series aims to support UEF staff in professional development in both on-campus and online/hybrid/blended education.

In this first part, which opens the series, we will hear from three experienced on-campus/online/hybrid/blended learning teachers about their own growth stories, as well as what has helped them at various stages of their profession.

Sean Michael Morris is the director and co-founder of Digital Pedagogy Lab, an international professional development gathering. Since 2015, in line with its own description, Digital Pedagogy Lab has provided an open, dialogue-based, and experimental community for teachers, students, librarians, information workers, administrators, and technologists. Diversity, equality, social justice, inclusion, and critical digital pedagogy are the cornerstones of DigPedlab. They are committed to imagining new futures for education.

Our guests on December 15 are inspiring and reflexive speakers and writers. They have tens of years of experience in distance, hybrid, and on-campus education. Morris and other Digital Pedagogy Lab actors promote humane and holistic views into learning that are thought-provoking and empowering.

Following the first hybrid lecture series in spring 2022, more hybrid lecture series on pedagogy and learning perspectives will be organised. The lecture series aims to support multidisciplinary, research-based development of university education and learning at the University of Eastern Finland.

The lecture series is open to anyone interested. The language of the lecture series is English, but the workshops (spring 2022) also offer Finnish-language discussion groups.

Welcome to listen and participate!
