Learning outcomes: After completing the course, the student:
- can identify safety risks related to laboratory work.
- knows how to choose appropriate personal protective equipment.
- knows how to use laboratory safety equipment.
- manages safe and accident-preventing laboratory work.
- understands the safe handling of chemicals.
The course develops the following generic skills:
- Development of theoretical and practical skills.
- Development of thinking skills.
- Ability to learn and adopt new things.
- Development of self-direction and stress tolerance.
Contens: The course includes an overview of general laboratory and chemical safety. The focus is on personal protective equipment, safe working methods, accident prevention, operations in emergency situations, legislation, risk management and safe handling of chemicals and laboratory waste. In addition, the course examines physical and biological risk factors and first aid measures in various accident situations.

Target group: For those interested in chemistry and laboratory work.
Modes of study: Independent study based on online material and taking an online exam.
Teaching methods: Independent online study and online exam.
