Contents: Current international educational research, policy or development themes related to topics chosen by students. Students can direct their work towards areas of interest by choice of topics.
Learning outcomes:
Student will:
- have a clear view of the current policy, research, and development trends in the field of education
- recognize the interplay of policy, practice, and research fields
- recognize cultural and regional differences in these fields
- be able to work in international and multicultural group (gen: internationality)
- Be able to prepare and give a clear seminar presentation on a chosen topic (gen: interaction and communication)

Active participation in hybrid seminar (16 hours), preparing a seminar presentation in a group (30 hours), peer reviews of other groups’ presentations (10 hours), individual work (52 hours). Seminars are organized in hybrid format so that participation is possible both online and on campus. Groups can work face-to-face, online or as hybrid groups.
If you have been granted temporary protection in Finland (by Migri), this English-language course is free for the academic year 2023-2024. Please contact training secretary for registration.
The normal study fee is 15 euros per ECTS credit. The study fee is paid at registration.
If the teaching is provided by a partner school of the Open University, the study fee consists of the Open University’s study fee and the partner school’s fee. The study fee is paid when registering for the course. By paying the study fee, the student receives a temporary right to study that entitles them to attend a particular course. The right to study is course-specific, and is required to complete the course as specified in the syllabus for the term, covering both teaching and course exams. If the course is continuously open for registration, the maximum time to complete the course is from 1 August to 31 July for that academic year.
