Learning outcomes: Student gets familiar with European forest bioeconomy. The student understands the diversity of forest ecosystems in Europe and the impact of forest ecosystems on forest management and forestry. The student outlines various political steering actions related to the forest bioeconomy. The student can recognize and understand the basic concepts of forest bioeconomy and industrial wood processing. The student identifies regional forest bioeconomy stakeholders in their home region and how they take bioeconomy aspects into account in daily operations.
Content: Key concepts related to the forest bioeconomy, European bioeconomy strategies, political framework of European forest bioeconomy and foresight of forest bioeconomy, European forest resources, regional viewpoints of forest bioeconomy, processing of forest biomass, different kind of industrial wood products, sustainable utilization of forest industry side-streams.

Target group: For those interested in forestry and forest bioeconomy.
