YUFE secures significant further funding from the European Commission

The Young Universities for the Future of Europe, YUFE Alliance, has secured 14.4 million euros of further funding from the European Commission. The University of Eastern Finland is a partner in YUFE, which comprises a total of ten academic and four non-academic partners.

The results of the Erasmus+ European Universities call were announced yesterday. Over 50 proposals were submitted from 350 higher education institutions looking to develop radical change within European higher education. The proposal submitted by YUFE was highly successful, scored as 92/100.

This is already the second YUFE initiative funded by the European Commission, now enabling YUFE activities all the way up to November 2026. The objective of YUFE is to establish a more equitable, flexible, diverse and societally impactful European higher education and research system by strengthening structural collaboration between academic institutions, the world of work, the non-profit sector, decision-makers and civil society.
