The international QS World University Rankings by Subject evaluates universities worldwide across academic subjects. Published today, the 2026 edition ranks the University of Eastern Finland among the world’s top universities in eight subjects.
The university’s highest rankings were in Nursing (101–150) and in Agriculture and Forestry (151–200).
In Education, the University of Eastern Finland was ranked in the 201–250 range among the world’s leading universities. In Pharmacy and Pharmacology, the university was ranked in the 251–300 range.
In Medicine, the university was ranked in the 401–450 range; in Environmental Sciences in the 501–550 range; in Biological Sciences in the 601–650 range, and in Computer Science in the 751–850 range.
To produce the rankings, QS analysed the reputation and research output of almost 6,300 institutions. From this group, more than 1,900 institutions were included in the subject-level rankings.
