UEF’s degree programmes taught in English to admit nearly 500 students

The application period to the Bachelor’s and Master’s degree programmes taught in English at the University of Eastern Finland opens on Wednesday, 4 January 2023, and closes on Wednesday, 18 January 2023, at 15.00 Finnish time. The number of students to be admitted to the programmes amounts to nearly 500.

Opening today, the call for applications via the Finnish joint application system invites applications to three Bachelor’s degree programmes and to more than 20 Master’s degree programmes taught in English at UEF, most of which will start in September 2023. As new openings, the university introduces the Bachelor’s Degree Programme in Information Technology, and the Master’s Degree Programme in Digital Marketing and Analytics. Both programmes respond to the global need for experts in IT and digital marketing.

“Next autumn, the University of Eastern Finland will be running three Bachelor’s degree programmes taught in English, taking in a total of 80 students in the current application round. In the upcoming years, we will be launching several new Bachelor’s degree programmes taught in English in order to meet the growing demand and to promote educational immigration,” Academic Rector Tapio Määttä says.

The Bachelor’s degree programmes welcome applications from both Finnish and international applicants with a suitable upper secondary qualification, while the Master’s degree programmes welcome applications from Finnish and international applicants with a suitable Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent qualification.

Citizens of Finland and the EU/EEA countries, as well as Switzerland, are not required to pay for tuition. Citizens of other countries are required to pay for tuition, with the annual tuition fee ranging from 8,000 to 10,000 euros, depending on the programme. For students required to pay for tuition, the university offers a range of different scholarships.

A total of 2,000 international students from around 100 different countries are currently studying at the University of Eastern Finland in exchange and degree programmes.
