All restrictions on gatherings lifted at the University of Eastern Finland

The Regional State Administrative Agency for Eastern Finland has, on 15 February 2022, revoked its decisions to restrict gatherings due to COVID-19 in the hospital district areas of North Karelia and North Savo. Consequently, all restrictions on gatherings are lifted also at the University of Eastern Finland. As of today, the number of people attending teaching, exams and public examinations of doctoral dissertations is no longer limited. The existing guidelines on health and safety will continue to be followed at the university.

The following basic instructions on safety and hygiene on campus must be followed by everyone (students, employees, visitors):

•    The first thing to do when you arrive is to wash your hands. You should also wash your hands regularly throughout the day. Use hand sanitizer in situations where washing your hands is not possible.
•    Keep a safe distance to others.
•    Wear a mask in all facilities with several people present, including on lectures.
•    No handshaking, no hugging.
