The FORMEC 2025 conference will be held in Joensuu on 9–13 June 2025, with the forest machine manufacturer Ponsse as the main partner. FORMEC is the largest annual forest technology conference in Europe.

Scientific Councils have granted a total of 10.5 million euros of funding to 9 new Academy Research Fellows and to 11 Academy Projects at the University of Eastern Finland.
