Light is the technology of the future – and Joensuu is at the heart of its development. At the Open Doors in Photonics event, you’ll discover how photonics is present in our everyday lives and how it is shaping the future. Throughout the day, you can explore applications of augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR), hyperspectral imaging, 3D-printed optics, as well as the latest AR glasses and photonics research.
The event also showcases photonics companies and career opportunities in the field of light-based technologies.
You’ll have the chance to meet students of photonics at the University of Eastern Finland, who will share insights about their studies and student life in Joensuu.
The event is especially suited for young people and young adults interested in technology, natural sciences, and photonics, but everyone fascinated by light, science, and technology is warmly welcome!
