The University of Eastern Finland and Teollisuusneuvos Heikki Väänänen’s Fund are organizing the 9th Karelia Symposium at Kuopio campus.

Welcome to follow the presentations and discussion by the experts of the field on the current situation in the use of wood and development of the sector in Finland, USA and Europe. The speakers include Sandra Lupien from Michigan State University, and experts from Finnish wood industry, European Forest Institute and academic research and education. Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Sari Essayah will have a video presentation on the wood construction program in Finland. The program will be in English. 

Register to the symposium on 1 April at the latest. There is a free bus transportation from Joensuu campus (Borealis, Yliopistokatu 7) at 7 a.m. and return in the evening. Pre-registration is compulsory.
