The University of Eastern Finland is launching three new online courses in battery technology, developed using the expertise and facilities of the university’s new battery research laboratory.

Virtual Learning Environment for Battery TechnologyFrom the fall of 2027, the courses will be on offer at the Open University
The training consists of three courses:
An introduction to battery technology and industry - 1 ECTS
How batteries are made - 1 ECTS
Electrochemical testing of batteries - 3 ECTS

The courses are free of charge for the spring of 2027, during the "Virtual Learning Environment for Battery Technology" project. This project is funded by the Service Centre for Continuous Learning and Employment (SECLE, JOTPA). The Service Centre promotes the competence development of working-age people and the availability of skilled labor. The operations of the Service Centre are overseen by the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment.
From the fall of 2027, the courses will be available through the Open University of the University of Eastern Finland.
