The University of Eastern Finland is planning reforms to University Services – change negotiations in October 2025

The University of Eastern Finland is planning changes to the unit structure and tasks of University Services. The aim is to develop the services to better meet the needs of the university’s leadership, Rectors and other actors.

The planned changes relate, in particular, to the development of support services provided to the heads of schools and departments and to the division of duties between and the areas of responsibility of the Rectors, who started their term of office in early 2025. The aim is not to cut costs, and the change will not involve any redundancies, layoffs, or changes from full-time to part-time employment.

The university will start change negotiations in accordance with the Co-operation Act in October. The changes are expected to take effect at the beginning of 2026.

University Services provide administrative and support services at the University of Eastern Finland to support teaching, research and leadership.
