Dean of the Faculty of Science and Forestry, Professor Jukka Jurvelin has been recognised with the ORS Arthur Steindler, MD Award.
The award is given every other year to recognise senior scientists, clinicians and educators who, throughout their professional lifetime, have made significant contributions– nationally and internationally – to the understanding of the musculoskeletal system and musculoskeletal diseases and injuries. The awardee must have started their professional careers outside the US, and have advanced their specialty throughout the world. The award will be presented to Professor Jurvelin at the annual meeting of the Orthopaedic Research Society, to be held in Tampa, USA, in February 2022.
“It is a great honour to receive this recognition, especially at this stage of my research career, and join the ranks of respected recipients of the Arthur Steindler Award,” Jurvelin says.
