Joensuu Conservatory of Music moved to new premises on the university campus a year ago. Now UEF and Conservatory will offer everyone at UEF an opportunity to enjoy a short concert on the Joensuu Campus once a month. With students from the conservatory performing, the concerts will be held in the lobby of the Carelia building, and each month will have its own, specific theme. The concerts are free of charge.
The first concert in the Afternoon Tunes concert series is a celebration of the string instruments. The concert is held on Wednesday, 14 September, at 14–14.30, with violists and cellists studying at the Joensuu Conservatory performing music from the Baroque to the Romantic period. The concert also celebrates the Belgian composer César Franck who was born 200 years ago.
During the concert, Carelia Restaurant has a special Afternoon Tea offer: infused tea with a selection macarons, cookies or bébés for 4 euros.
Tune in to Afternoon Tunes!
