Sleep disturbances during pregnancy may be a significant risk factor for gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM), a recent study by Kuopio University Hospital and the University of Eastern Finland shows.

Philip Chambers, MSc (Agr & For), investigated how gamification and playful approaches can help collect forest data to inform forest planning decision-making.

The results highlight that familiarity, through direct interaction, tends to generate more positive perceptions and reduce fear.

By integrating technologies, the research contributes to making therapy more accessible and effective, ultimately improving rehabilitation outcomes and quality of life for individuals with language disorders.

The project aims to promote the well-being of young people by developing their mental health literacy and by increasing their social inclusion through various research and innovation activities.

“I don’t think many programmes give you this kind of exposure to both academia and business,” said doctoral researcher Ahmed Mohamed at the kick-out event of the Neuro-Innovation doctoral programme.

The review places particular emphasis on integrated landscape approaches that seek to reconcile ecological, social, economic and cultural objectives.
