The University of Eastern Finland leads a unique doctoral education pilot in sustainability transformations research, which will train 40 doctoral graduates in Finland.
The Ministry of Education and Culture has allocated a total of 225 million euros to universities for pilot projects in doctoral education. The University of Eastern Finland is involved in 11 pilots now selected for funding.
UEF and partners received over 3.2 million euros in development funding from various instruments.
The City of Joensuu and the City of Kuopio are jointly showing support for the launch of education in the field of technology and natural sciences at the University of Eastern Finland.
The funding will allow for student and staff mobility with UEF and 25 countries outside the EU, between 2022 and 2025.
The Committee of the Fund awarded grants to a total of 10 students in its meeting in May.
