The University of Eastern Finland recommends using face masks

The University of Eastern Finland has made a recommendation to its personnel and students on the use of face masks. The university recommends that face masks be used in study and work situations wherein maintaining a safe distance from others is not possible. The university will provide masks for such situations.

The use of face masks is recommended for, e.g., guidance, advisory, and teaching situations that cannot be carried out remotely or on campus while maintaining safe distances. Such situations include laboratory work, teaching that requires close proximity, customer service situations when a protective plexiglass is unavailable, and compulsory meetings. Additionally, using a face mask is recommended for work travel by public transportation or ride shares wherein maintaining safe distances is not possible. The university does not provide masks for commuting to and from work.

In traineeships/internships the security guidelines of the training place must be adhered to.
