These country specific requirements are applied on the admitted Master's degree applicants only. During the application period we only require scanned enclosures attached (uploaded) to the application form.
There are country-specific document requirements in place for academic qualifications awarded in certain countries. If your qualification was or will be awarded in one of the countries listed below, you must submit your educational documents following the relevant country-specific instructions. Only for a particularly weighty reason can the original documents be checked.
Please note that for some countries the country-specific requirement only applies to certain educational documents, such as a transcript of records. In such cases, submit the other required educational documents following the general instructions.
Please note that we require all admitted applicants to provide us both the degree certificate and the transcript of records unless stated otherwise in the following requirements.
Kindly note that regular photocopies are not sufficient, even if they are sent by the awarding institution. The University of Eastern Finland only accepts official transcripts of record. It is also possible to submit electronic transcripts through a few recognized sources. For information on which electronic transcript sending services are accepted by the university, please see Electronic transcripts. If your institution uses one of the services, you can request for your official transcript of records to be electronically sent to the University of Eastern Finland.
Please check if your degree awarding country is listed below and then follow the given instructions. The University of Eastern Finland makes no exceptions to these requirements.
If the country your educational documents were awarded in is not on the list, we require you to submit the original degree certificate and transcript of records for verification upon arrival at our university. For more information please see How to submit documents.
Offshore campuses
If your academic qualification was completed at an offshore campus, please follow the country-specific instructions for the country where the main university is located or accredited.
Studies completed at multiple institutions, e.g. transfer studies, top-up degrees etc.
If your academic qualification was completed at different institutions, for example you transferred between institutions or your qualification is a top-up degree completed at different institutions, you need to follow all applicable country-specific instructions when submitting the educational documents covering all the studies leading to your academic qualification.
If you have completed your degree in an African country, an official transcript of records must be submitted by post to the University of Eastern Finland (UEF) by the awarding institution. The envelope must be sealed by the awarding institution’s official stamp across the back flap.
The transcript of records must come to UEF directly from the awarding institution and cannot be sent by the applicant. Please note that regular photocopies are not sufficient, even if they are sent by the awarding institution. University of Eastern Finland only accepts official transcripts of record.

If you have completed your degree in one of the countries mentioned above, you must submit a copy of the official government-granted degree certificate and transcript. The original documents must be verified with an apostille by the appropriate ministry/authorized body of the country in question, please see a list below. Copies of the apostille-verified original documents must then be officially certified by a notary public. The copies submitted must carry the notary public’s original stamp on each page and the signature of the certifying officer.
Alternatively, the notary public can also use a unifying element, meaning that the pages are attached together in a way that certifies them all; in this case only one page must carry the notary public’s original stamp and the signature of the certifying officer.

If you have completed your degree in Bangladesh, you must submit the education documentation awarded by your university. Degree certificates and transcripts must always be awarded by the main university or a college that has a degree-awarding status. Educational documents granted by affiliated colleges will not be accepted.
The copy of the degree certificate and transcript of records must be officially certified (attested) by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh, specifically the Consular and Welfare Wing. Each page of the transcript of records and the degree certificate must carry the original seal and signature of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bangladesh.

If you have completed your degree in Canada or USA, an official transcript of records must be submitted to the University of Eastern Finland (UEF) by the awarding institution. The envelope must be sealed by the awarding institution’s official stamp across the back flap.
The transcript of records must come to UEF directly from the awarding institution and cannot be sent by the applicant. Please note that regular photocopies are not sufficient, even if they are sent by the awarding institution. UEF only accepts official transcripts of record.
You are not required to submit a copy of your degree certificate if your transcript of records includes the following information: name of the institution that awarded the degree, the date of issue, the name of the person to whom the degree was awarded and what title/degree it was.

Share the verification reports directly from CSSD's online service by selecting University of Eastern Finland as the recipient. Use admissions@uef.fi as the contact email address if required. You may upload the reports in English also to the application form if you have them available.
Please note, you do not need to send any other copies of your original educational documents besides the verification reports.
If you have completed or are completing your degree at one of the Finnish Universities or Universities of Applied Sciences, you do not need to submit copies of your educational documents by post. The University of Eastern Finland will verify your degree electronically using a national database. You must upload copies of your transcript of records for your application form at Studyinfo.fi.
Please note that all educational documents awarded by the National Defence University (Maanpuolustuskorkeakoulu), Novia University of Applied Sciences (Yrkeshögskolan Novia) and Åland University of Applied Sciences (Högskolan på Åland) must be uploaded to the application form.

Degree certificates must always be awarded by the main university. Degree certificates granted by affiliated colleges will not be accepted.

If you have completed your degree in Italy but have not yet received your final degree certificate, a Certificato di Laurea is sufficient to prove your educational background.
