Learning outcomes

The student is able to 
- identify the modules of the SAP ERP system. 
- understand the role of ERP system in refining information in financial management.  
- utilize SAP functionalities in business processes. 
- recognize SAP-reports as a management accounting tool.
This course develops the following generic skills: This course taught in English develops the student's international skills. Further, the student's digital skills develop with the use of the SAP ERP system.

Course content:
The functionalities of SAP ERP system and information management with SAP. 

Study methods
Interactive lectures and practices (12 h), Independent learning (69 h) online. Completion of assignments.

This is an Advanced studies level course.

Prerequisites
Intermediary course in management accounting or equivalent competence.

General Open University info in English 

We encourage everyone who has interest in our English-language courses in Business studies to participate to the info session on 27 August. Join our online info session on 27 August 2026, from 4–5 pm (Finnish time) to learn more about the University of Eastern Finland’s Open University and our wide range of English-language courses. Learn more and register.

Individual study units cost 20 e / credit. These prices hold for the academic year 2026–2027.

The study fee is paid at registration. 

By paying the study fee, the student receives a temporary right to study that entitles them to attend a particular course. The right to study is course-specific, and is required to complete the course as specified in the syllabus for the term, covering both teaching and course exams.

If you have not studied at UEF before, you will also receive instructions for activating a UEF username. If you already have a UEF username, change the password to your account.
