The Vaajasalo Foundation has awarded five grants, total 73,000 euros, to researchers at the University of Eastern Finland for epilepsy research. The grants are awarded for the years 2026–2027.

- Research Director Riikka Martikainen, A.I. Virtanen Institute for Molecular Sciences, grant awarded: 12,500 euros.
- Doctoral Researcher Faezeh Heidari, Institute of Clinical Medicine, grant awarded: 7,500 euros.
- Postdoctoral Researcher Liudmila Saveleva, A.I. Virtanen Institute for Molecular Sciences, grant awarded: 33,000 euros.
- Visiting Researcher Katri Silvennoinen, Institute of Clinical Medicine, grant awarded: 5,000 euros.
- Visiting Researcher Zakarya Hadj-Allal, Institute of Clinical Medicine, grant awarded: 15,000 euros.
