The Finnish 3Rs Annual Symposium 2026

Finnish 3R Center (FIN3R) is proud to invite you to join us for the FIN3R Annual Symposium 2026, which will be held in Kuopio on 27–29 October. This year's theme is "Partners in Progress: People, Animals, and the 3Rs". 

Over the two days, you will have an opportunity to attend the lectures by national and international experts, whose works directly relies on the 3R principles.

Speakers include: Vootele Voikar, Masato Ohtsuka, Petteri Stenroos, Ahmed Al-Samadi, Pauliina Rautio, Hanna Vuorenpää, Miia Juntunen and Elisa Närvä.

Additionally, the Power Analysis workshop by Petteri Piepponen will be held on 27 October at 13.00–16.00. The workshop will be fully online. Please note that the number of participants is limited (20 participants).

We invite abstracts from students and researchers which will be judged for the FIN3R Symposium award. Authors of selected abstracts will be invited to give a short presentation at the event and the replacement/refinement/reduction protocol will be published in a protocol publication. Selected submissions will also be awarded a certificate prize. Abstract deadline: 28 September 2026, 16:00 Eastern European Time.  

For animal caretakers across Finland: We invite caretakers, technicians, and anyone working with lab animals to submit their stories and experiences about how to make lab animals' lives better. Selected submissions will also be awarded a certificate prize. Deadline: 28 September 2026.
