We are delighted to invite you to join our upcoming Musculoskeletal Health and Technology (MSKHealthTech) Research Community Seminar Series, which will take place on Thursday, October 8, 2026 from 15:00-16:00 in Melania building ME101 and online.

We are pleased to welcome our special guest speaker, Dr. Riikka Holopainen.

Title: FIN-OA project: Implementing guideline-based care for hip and knee osteoarthritis

Bio

Dr. Riikka Holopainen is a musculoskeletal physiotherapist, lecturer and researcher. She completed her PhD in 2021. The topic of her thesis was biopsychosocial approach in the management of musculoskeletal conditions. Currently, she works part-time as a clinical expert at South Savo Wellbeing Services County in Finland combining clinical work and developing rehabilitation practices. In addition, she is involved in multiple research projects that are focused on musculoskeletal conditions, person-centered care and communication as well as implementing evidence-based care pathways. She also teaches these topics in continuing education workshops. She is passionate about identifying best practice rehabilitation and enabling ways for clinicians to deliver that care.
