Welcome to our international webinar inspiring sustainable action through circular economy. Project participants form SES (Social Enterprise for Sustainability) and CESMI (Indo Finnish consortium on circular economy of microplastics) will share our learning and experiences from our pilots in Southern Africa and India. The SES project has co-created a series of pilot social enterprises that promote innovation of waste management in collaboration with local communities in South Africa and Namibia. The end-goal is to create a circular economy and promote upscaling in communities through effective waste management. The CESMI initiative is exploring the issue of microplastics and what scientific approaches can be used to address these global issues.

Come and join us for a hybrid or in person event where we will explore the problem of waste management and microplastics and how it can be scientifically addressed in the Finnish, Indian and Southern African context.

Partners: Social Enterprise for Sustainability lead by University of Eastern Finland, Professor Janet Carter Anand; University of Jyvaskyla, Ass. Professor Satu Ranta-Tyrkkö; University of Namibia, Dr Rachel Freeman, University of Limpopo, South Africa, Professor Jabulani Makhubele.
