In August 2026, the Open University of the University of Eastern Finland open registration for the free Health Technology Key Skills training program, which consists of five online courses of one or two credit each (1 or 2 ECTS). You can take one or more online courses and learn about the design, safe use, and quality and business skills of medical devices and applications. The studies are intended for anyone who needs orientation to the health technology sector and wants to develop their skills flexibly alongside work. Come and hear what the key skills of health technology are, what do we study and how, and how you can get involved in the training.

Program

13:00 Project Coordinator Herkko Pulkkinen: What are the key skills in health technology and why should they be developed?

13:10 Postdoctoral Researcher Kristina Leppälä: What do we study and how? Who is the training for?

13:15 Specialist in Continuous Learning Mari Berg: How to start your studies? What kind of support and guidance is available? What is the SECLE (JOTPA in Finnish) project that funds free trainings for you? What is the Open Badge for studies?

13:25 Discussion and questions

The training is funded by the Service Centre for Continuous Learning and Employment (SECLE, JOTPA in Finnish). It promotes the development of the skills of working-age people and the availability of skilled labour. The service centre's operations are steered by the Ministry of Education and Culture and the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment.

We look forward to seeing you attend the event!
