University of Eastern Finland (UEF) will once again host the annual Applications of Photonics lecture series in autumn 2025. The series will be held in a hybrid format – on-site at the Joensuu campus and online via Microsoft Teams – and is open to all.

Organized in collaboration with the PREIN flagship, Photonics Finland, and Photonics Joensuu the lectures are hosted by Professor Jyrki Saarinen and began on October 30th, 2025.

Weekly schedule 
The series has three possible time slots each week: 
Tuesdays: 12:15–14:00 
Wednesdays: 10:15–12:00 
Thursdays: 14:15–16:00

On any given week, one or more of these slots may feature lectures or company presentations on real-world applications of photonics. Each session includes expert talks and concludes with a discussion period, providing an opportunity for questions and informal networking.
