Real-LIFE Emissions project, a LIFE Preparatory Project (2021-2024) is organizing its first international workshop, which will be held on 9th November, 2022 at the University of Eastern Finland, Kuopio campus and online as well.

The workshop will focus on reviewing of the measurement methods and particulate emission components produced from the small-scale solid fuel combustion. The workshop aims at exchanging knowledge on the sampling and dilution systems for the measurement of particulate emissions in residential combustion environment as well as important emission parameters to be included in the future measurement standards and in health and climate studies. The workshop brings scientists, combustion appliance manufacturers, regulators, and experts in the field together and discuss current issues and solutions for the residential combustion emissions, sampling methods and protocols.

The workshop is divided into three sessions in which workshop topic will be discussed in detail:

  • Session 1: Evaluation of emission components to be measured
  • Session 2: Description of the applicable sampling and measurement methods
  • Session 3: Outlook of other ongoing projects in Europe

The programme with detailed schedule and the speakers is available on the website of the project. The deadline for registration is October 24. The online link to the workshop will be send week before the event at latest. Link for registration: https://registration.contio.fi/uef/Registration/Login?id=4203-T_4203-4989.

Harmonizing reliable test procedures representing real-LIFE air pollution from solid fuel heating appliance (Real-LIFE Emissions) project is funded by LIFE-Programme of European Commission (EC). The project consortium is led by University of Eastern Finland (UEF) and as partners are Technology and Support Centre in the Centre of Excellence for Renewable Resources (TFZ), Institut national de l’environnement industriel et des Risques (INERIS) and www.ineris.fr and Technical University of Ostrava (VSB).
