International MSc programmes
At the School of Computing, you can study in three international MSc degree programmes. Programmes are taught in English, take about two years and contain 120 ECTS credits. The students interact with local and international companies and reserch institutes, giving them great international career opportunities.
The Intenational MSc programme in Information Technology (IMPIT) offers an internationally recognized Master's Degree in IT at the European standards in less than two years. The prerequisite is BSc level education with a background in Computer Science, Information Technology, Communications Engineering or in a closely related field. The language of instruction is English. IMPIT programme is offered in Joensuu campus.
Color in Informatics and Media Technology (CIMET) is a two-year research Master’s Degree in fundamental color science, preparing students for a doctoral research and engaging them to undertake cutting-edge research projects in photonics, computer vision & imaging science, computer science & multimedia technology. The programme leads graduates to research careers in the academia or research institutes.
The programme is organized together with University of Saint-Etienne (France), and Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Norway). At the UEF, CIMET is co-organized by the School of Computing and the Department of Physics.
Color in Science and Industry (COSI) is a two-year scientific Erasmus+ Joint Master’s Degree, aiming to train the next generation of highly-skilled industrial experts in applied colour science, in various cutting-edge industries (photonics, optics, spectral imaging, multimedia technologies, computer graphics and vision) in a diverse range of sectors (including multimedia, health care, cosmetic, automotive, food-processing). The two areas of focus are spectral technologies and applied colour imaging.
The programme is organized together with University of Saint-Etienne (France), University of Granada (Spain) and Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Norway). COSI is an interdisciplinary programme, encompassing photonics, imaging science, computer science and multimedia technology as a mix of theoretical and practical knowledge. At the UEF, COSI is co-organized by the School of Computing and the Department of Physics
