Nzechukwu Isiozor recognised with AHA 2023 Paul Dudley White International Scholar Award

Researcher Nzechukwu Isiozor of the Institute of Clinical Medicine at the University of Eastern Finland has won an American Heart Association 2023 Paul Dudley White International Scholar Award for abstract Life’s Essential 8 and the Risk of Stroke in Finnish Men: The Kuopio Ischaemic Heart Disease Risk Factor Study. “Life’s Essential 8” factors include diet, physical activity, nicotine exposure, sleep health, body mass index (BMI), blood lipids, blood glucose and blood pressure.

The award is presented to the primary author of the highest ranked abstract submitted from each country to the American Heart Association’s EPI|Lifestyle Scientific Sessions 2023. The award is named for Dr Paul Dudley White, who was a founding father of the American Heart Association and an early leader in preventive cardiology. It reflects Dr White’s vision for global excellence in cardiovascular science and medicine.

Nzechukwu Isiozor and co-authors will be acknowledged during the American Heart Association’s EPI|Lifestyle Scientific Sessions in Boston, USA, on 28 February – 3 March 2023.
