Public transport connections to Joensuu and Joensuu Campus

Joensuu is located in the eastern part of Finland, close to the Russian border and about 440 kilometres north-east from the capital Helsinki. Joensuu can be easily reached by air via Helsinki and there are several train and coach connections per day from Helsinki, Tampere and Turku, as well as from many other cities in Finland.

The Joensuu Campus is a no parking zone, and parking is allowed in designated parking areas only. A university parking permit (for staff) is required in most parking spaces. During the winter season, parking in spaces with electricity is allowed only for persons who have purchased a relevant permit.
Parking permits (for staff) can be obtained from the university's porters.

Visitor parking

Visitors need a guest parking permit to  park their cars in the university's parking areas in which a permit is required. In some parking areas, parking is allowed without a permit in some or all of the spaces. A parking disc (limited time) is required in some parking spaces.
Parking permits for visitors can be obtained from the university's porters.

Should the university's own parking areas be full, there is an affordable pay parking area right next to the campus on Yliopistokatu. This area is maintained by Joensuun pysäköinti Oy.

Parking in the parking areas on campus is monitored by the city's parking inspectors.

The parking areas are marked on the printable campus map.
