Team Ameba - developing learning environments

Team Ameba is a multidisciplinary research team, which was formed in late 2015 due to an expansion in the use of the flipped classroom method at the University of Eastern Finland. A university lecturer Markku Saarelainen, who at the time was working as a Learning Environment Development Manager, gathered a team consisting of members working in different fields of education and physics.

Team Ameba is a flexible and adaptable group of researchers, hence the name Team Ameba. Its members specialise in various aspects of learning and teaching in higher education, as well as in the use of information and communication technology (ICT) in education and learning environments.

Currently, the team is researching the use and experiences of flipped classroom teaching and learning at the University of Eastern Finland. The results will be used to further develop learning environments, teaching, and learning in higher education.
