Tero Setälä, D.Sc. (Tech.), Professor
Tero Setälä received his MSc and DSc degrees in 1998 and 2003, respectively, in the Department of Engineering Physics and Mathematics of Helsinki University of Technology (currently Aalto University). He has held senior researcher posts at these universities before move to Joensuu at the beginning of 2013. Since 2006 he has been Adjunct Professor of Physical Optics at Aalto University. He currently acts as an Associate Editor of Optics Express.
His current research topics include electromagnetic coherence, 3D polarization, nano optics, electromagnetic optics, correlation imaging, and plasmonics. He has authored or co-authored about 90 refereed journal papers and a similar number of proceedings papers in international conferences. His teaching experience includes electromagnetism, Fourier optics, quantum optics, laser physics, nano optics, and quantum mechanics.
