Forests and the Environment
The University of Eastern Finland enjoys a leading national position in the field of forestry research. In research relating to Russia and the European borders, border regions and fringe areas, the university seeks to reach the international top level. Furthermore, the university strengthens its research and education relating to the Russian language, culture, industry and commerce. The university develops its cooperation with Russia especially through the expertise found in the areas of expertise in education and research.
