MSc EF application procedure, step-by-step

You will begin the application process on the national Studyinfo portal. Application form is available at only when the call for applications is open (2 December 2019 – 22 January 2020 at 15:00 (GMT +2)). Go to Studyinfo portal and begin the application:

You must fill in the online application and submit it with the required scanned enclosures (not recommendation letters) by the given deadline.  E-mail attachments will not be accepted. We will not process application documents that have arrived after the deadline.

Note! Each student candidate can apply for an EMJMD scholarship to a maximum number of three different joint programmes, Erasmus Mundus Master’s Courses and Erasmus Mundus Joint Doctorate Programmes combined. The comprehensive eligibility criteria can be found at:

Application instructions in a nutshell

  • When the application period begins, fill in the online application form and make sure you have attached the required application enclosures (in pdf format). At the application state we require only scanned enclosures attached (uploaded) to the application form. Paper copies are not required during the application period.
  • The recommendation letters must arrive in sealed envelopes to the Admissions Office of the University of Eastern Finland (address below) OR they can be sent directly to the MSc EF programme Coordinator,  MS. Marjoriitta Möttönen (address stated in the letter template) by the referee. The mailing address is:

  • If you use a courier service, you need to give our phone number, which is +358 29  445 8990.
  • Make sure your recommendation letters reach the Admissions Office of the University of Eastern Finland by the given deadline at 15.00 (GMT+2).

Application documents will not be returned to the applicant.

Note: The personal data of all applicants will be sent to the Agency and may be used by other bodies involved in the management of EMJMD acting as stakeholders of the programme (i.e. European Commission, Erasmus+ National Offices, EU Delegations, Erasmus Mundus students and Alumni Association) for facilitating student access to the joint programme.
