Creating learning environments of tomorrow
This project aims to enhance the developmental environment for digital learning environments in Joensuu region in Eastern Finland. The long term goal of this project is to establish an internationally oriented Development Center for Digital Learning Environments. This Center will work as a hub for connecting multidisciplinary research and development with businesses and local schools.
The project is managed by University of Eastern Finland and city of Joensuu. It's funded with European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) from the programme for Sustainable growth and jobs 2014 - 2020 - Finland's structural funds, granted by The Regional Council of North Karelia.
As a part of this project we will design a new experimental learning environment with local businesses and other partners in cooperation. This learning environment will be tested out during SciFest, a science festival in Joensuu in May. To help design this learning environment we will host three workshops where the latest scientific knowledge and the unique products of the businesses will meet. City of Joensuu will also allow for businesses to test their products in authentic environments in the local schools. These schools are also open for research purposes and other multi-project purposes.
