I am going on exchange in the spring semester 2020, but I have not yet travelled to my host institution. What should I do? (Updated 23 March 2020 at 9.05)
Travelling abroad for business or studying is not allowed for the moment. Persons (the university’s students and staff as well as staff and pupils of the teacher training school) returning from abroad must study or work from home for 14 days. 

The reimbursement of travel costs and other costs must be inquired from your own insurance company, the airline, or the organiser of your travel.

Please inform the contact persons at the host institution and at University of Eastern Finland (international@uef.fi) about your decision to suspend your exchange. Remember to inform other relevant parties as well (insurance company, Kela etc.).

The Finnish Government urges all Finnish citizens and persons living in Finland to return to Finland from abroad immediately. UEF students who are currently abroad make the decision about returning for themselves and are responsible for any consequences of that decision.

If you choose to stay and continue your student exchange/training/other studies abroad, please follow the situation and bulletins of UEF and your host institution closely and follow the instructions.

I am suspending my exchange and returning to Finland. Do I have to repay my mobility scholarship to the university?
University of Eastern Finland will not charge back the mobility scholarships from the students who suspend and return from their student exchange due to the coronavirus outbreak in the spring semester 2020.

University of Eastern Finland will not reimburse costs caused by the cancellation or suspension of a student exchange or traineeship abroad.

What happens to courses offered by the Language Centre on which 80% attendance is required? (Updated 16 March 2020 at 11.18)
The Language Centre has decided that as of Monday 16 March, all teaching will be moved online. In other words, courses will not be cancelled, but the modes of completion and possibly also timetables will be changed. Teachers will contact their students via Moodle and/or email. 

What will happen to the university's entrance examinations? (Updated 18 March 2020 at 9.50)
The Finnish universities are working together to safeguard the organisation of entrance examinations, and will jointly inform of any possible special arrangements caused by the coronavirus situation.
