Continuous Manufacturing of Tablets

Continuous manufacturing (CM) is a hot topic in the pharmaceutical manufacturing both in Pharma industry and in academic field. There were only few University labs in the world who has the CM line to the academic research. One of them is in the PromisLab, School of Pharmacy, UEF. Our CM research is highly QbD-driven. Our research covers the different aspects of the continuous manufacturing of tablets like Design of Experiment and Design Space in CM, residence time distribution based material tracking, comparison between the batch manufacturing and CM, segregation in CM, batch definition in CM, process simulations in CM, the implementation of Process Analytical Tools for the CM, and real-time process monitoring with chemometric tools. We have been in strong collaboration with Pharma industry (AstraZeneca, MSD, Novo Nordisk, Orion, JRS Pharma Zentiva, InnoPharma Labs) and also with academic collaborators (RCPE, Graz, Austria and Ghent University, Belgium, University of Lisbon, Portugal).
